OLIVEIRASRESTAURANTE
The website and the digital menu have no customer accounts, forms or online bookings. You don’t need to give us your name, email or phone number to use them. This page explains the little that is processed, why, for how long, and how you can object.
This is a translation of the Portuguese version, which prevails in case of doubt.
Restaurante Oliveiras, Rua do Sairrão (EN 206), n.º 400, 4810-236 Guimarães, Portugal. For any matter about personal data: restauranteoliveiras@gmail.com or 253 541 166. We have no data protection officer, as our activity does not require one.
When you open the menu, through a QR code, the website or directly, we record the visit to know whether and how the menu is used: day and time, where you came from (table, QR code, TV screen, website or direct address), lunch or dinner, type of device (phone, tablet or computer), language, and which categories and dishes you opened.
We use no cookies for this and store nothing on your device. Your IP address is not stored. To count distinct people in a day we store a code calculated from the IP address and the browser with a secret key; the code changes every day and cannot be used to recognise you from one day to the next. This data does not identify anyone directly, but it is not anonymous, so we treat it as personal data.
The figures are only seen in aggregate, in the management panel, and are not combined with other data, used for advertising or shared. Visits by staff and bots are not counted.
How to object: at the end of the menu, tap “Don’t count my visits in the statistics”; or refuse cookies in the website’s notice; or turn on the Global Privacy Control signal in your browser. In any of these cases, your following visits are no longer recorded. The choice is stored in the consentimento cookie and also applies to Google Analytics on the website.
On the website, and only if you accept in the cookie notice, we use Google Analytics to count visits, see where they come from and which pages and buttons are used (for example, tapping “Ligar” to call or asking for directions). Without your consent Google Analytics is never loaded. Advertising signals and Google Signals are turned off. The digital menu does not load Google Analytics; only if you accepted it on the website and move on to the menu without leaving the page may the menu pages you open be counted.
Google processes this data on our behalf, as a processor. You can withdraw consent at any time in ; the Google Analytics cookies are deleted.
The map on the home and contact pages is from Google Maps. It loads from Google’s servers, which receive your IP address and set their own cookies, so it only appears if you have accepted cookies or tap “Mostrar o mapa” (show the map). Google processes that data as an independent controller, under Google’s privacy policy.
As with any website, the providers that host and serve the website and the menu receive, with each request, the IP address, browser, requested page and time. These are used only to deliver pages, protect the service against abuse and diagnose faults, and are deleted by the provider after a short period. We use them for nothing else.
In the management panel, reserved for staff, failed sign-in attempts are linked to the IP address, in memory only and for up to 15 minutes, to block repeated attempts.
The menu stores on your device the language you chose and, if you select them, your dietary restrictions (for example, allergies). Restrictions never leave your device: we neither receive nor see them. On the tablet in the dining room, restrictions are cleared when the menu returns to the TV screen, so they don’t carry over to the next customer.

Only the companies that provide services for the website and the menu, processing data on our behalf, under contract and unable to use it for other purposes:
Some of these providers, such as Google, are based outside the European Economic Area. When data leaves the EEA, this happens under an adequacy decision of the European Commission, such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, or standard contractual clauses approved by the Commission. We do not sell or disclose data to anyone.
We make no automated decisions about you and create no profiles.
You can ask for access to your data, its correction or erasure, restriction of processing and, where processing is based on consent or a contract, portability. You can object to the menu statistics and technical logs, and withdraw consent, without affecting what was done before.
Write to restauranteoliveiras@gmail.com. We reply within one month, free of charge; for complex requests this may be extended by two further months, and we will let you know. We may ask for information to confirm the request is yours. As the statistics store nothing that identifies you directly, we may be unable to find data about you.
If you believe your data has not been handled properly, you can complain to the Portuguese data protection authority, Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados, at cnpd.pt.
If we change what is processed, we update this page and the date at the top. This policy is also available in Portuguese.
